Kyle Frederick red hot at Outagamie Speedway

(Seymour, WI) August 4, 2023- Race Report presented by Klink Equipment and Elite Coatings Inc- 125 competitors checked in to battle at Outagamie Speedway. There were 25 IMCA Modifieds, 29 IMCA Stock Cars, 33 IMCA Sport Mods, 22 IMCA Sport Compacts and 19 Unified Street Stocks.

Kyle Frederick was on fire during the IMCA Stock Car feature both literally and figuratively. Frederick raced around Larry Karcz on the 5th circuit and to the lead. As the race progressed Federick’s advantage began to shrink as Karcz and Brandon Czarapata chased. It became apparent why Federick’s lead began to fade as his left rear brake rotor began to glow bright orange. Signifying a stuck brake. Frederick’s machine held on just long enough to take the checker. Once he pulled in the tech area, the left rear burst into flames. Track officials quicky put out the fire. Czarapata was able to sneak by on the last lap to take second, Karcz had his best run of the year to place third and after starting 21st Rod Snellenberger completed the top four.

Rookie Jeff Schmuhl grabbed the lead on lap 3 of the IMCA Modified and never looked back, cruising to his first win of the season. Jason Ebert chased down the leader but never found a line to challenge for the for the top spot and had to settle for second. Konnor Wilinski took third and Mike Mullen made a late race charge to place fourth.

Zachary Raab went wire to wire in the IMCA Sport Mods. Raab took full advantage of his front row starting position. Pulling to a half a track lead. Not even a caution with 3 to go could stop him as he still won by half a straightaway. Derek Fehling placed a solid second, Max Oreskovich took third and state point leader Skyler Woods was fourth.

A $500 payday awaited the winner of the IMCA Sport Compacts and early on Brett Deprez looked like the driver to beat. Kyle Jorgenson made his way to second and began to apply pressure lap after lap. Midway through the contest Jorgenson’s persistence paid off as he took the top spot. Jorgenson held off all competitors for his for win of the season and collected the $500 top prize. Al Cottrell was able to place second, Jake Peters took third and after starting 20th Taylor Yunk placed fourth.

Justin Jacobson ended Paul Diefenthaler’s winning streak in the Unified Street Stocks. Jacobson was able to slip past leader James Fletcher on the 9th lap of the feature. Jacobson went on to score his 2nd main of the summer. Fletcher made a charge on the final lap but had to settle for second at the pay window. Diefenthaler was third and fourth went to Trey Van Straten.
