Roedl and Czarapata capture checkers at Outagamie Speedway

(Seymour, WI) July 8, 2022 Race Report- Outagamie Speedway Race Report- 127 racers checked to do battle at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC. There were 26 IMCA Modifieds, 33 IMCA Stock Cars, 30 IMCA Sport Mods, 20 IMCA Sport Compacts and 18 Unified Street Stocks.

Shawn Frelich led the opening laps of the IMCA Modified feature until Marcus Yarie motored to the top spot on lap 4. Yarie paced the field until the caution flew midway through the contest. Dan Roedl used that his advantage, pulling next to Yarie for the top spot. Roedl road the top side to perfection, taking the lead on lap 12. Point leader Cody Schroeder got to second late in the going but no one had anything for Roedl who picked up his first win of the season and a clean sweep to boot. Schroeder had to settle for second at the pay window, Rookie Jayden Schmidt was third, Brian Mullen took fourth and Yarie completed the top five.

In the IMCA Sport Mod feature it was a three-car battle for the top spot as Taylor Haufschildt, Jake Carpenter and Goeff Jeche duked it out. Haufschildt held the top spot until Jeche slipped by on lap 10. Jeche quickly came under attack from Carpenter. A caution with 5 laps remaining set up a dash to the checkers. Carpenter came to call, pulling to the outside of Jeche. On the final lap Carpenter was able to use the momentum up top to take the lead. Carpenter went on to win his second feature in a row. Jeche had to settle for second, Will Garceau had his best run of the season to place third, Derek Fehling took fourth and Cory Kemkes was fifth.

Jeff Steenbergen and Brandon Czarapata went to battle from the drop off the green in the IMCA Stock Car headliner. Czarapata worked the tires as Steenbergen stormed the cushion. The duo exchanged the lead several times until times. Czarapata was able to take the lead for good with 8 laps remaining to score his first win of the season. Clint Forstner made a late race charge to place second, with a third-place finish Kyle Frederick took over the point lead. Chase Parker placed fourth and Steenbergen was fifth.

Despite having to change engines Friday morning Paul Diefenthaler was able to net his first win of the season in the Unified Street Stocks. Diefenthaler was able to pass Jared Spaulding with 3 laps remaining to secure the win. Brooke Diefenthaler took second, Spaulding was third, James Flether took over the point lead with a fourth-place finish and early race leader TJ Everard rounded out the top five.
